You will Learn
How to approach an unusual cake structure.
From concept to composition and execution - how to bring an idea to life and convey its message through its details.
Theory on sculpting - making moulds and casting.
How to work with chocolate and various ways to use this medium.
How to stack/layer cake and filling, using my signature torso mould.
How to make the torso.
Various ways to design the torso and bring a different concept to it, using the same body.
How to work with gum paste/fondant to bring the vine finish to life.
Wafer paper: wafer paper theory and how to make wafer paper details to decorate the torso.
Modelling chocolate: modelling chocolate theory and how to achieve details for the torso.
Adding touches of etherealism to the design: lustre dusts, etc.
Students are encouraged to bring their own torso concept to life - conceptualizing, planning, execution.
*Demonstration and student’s execution with real cake.
**Students will be able to take Marina Machado's signature torso mould home with them.
*** During the masterclass, Marina will be demonstrating stacking with ganache and cake.
